A Family Home with a View
With the goal of creating a space that would accommodate large family gatherings, we worked with Ken Lindsteadt Architects to create a residence that feels both serene and livable. Each bedroom works double duty with additional sleeping surfaces hidden throughout. Soft gray tones are reminiscent of the city’s foggy atmosphere and pops of warm yellow, citrine and blue were added throughout. The home boasts gorgeous vistas that show off Alcatraz and Coit Tower. To make the most of these views, the wall between the kitchen and dining room was removed and windows were enlarged or accented with transom-shaped moldings. Though there were many alterations made to the interior, they were done subtly and tastefully to maintain a sense of place as well as the historic integrity of the building.
