Last Friday night, the design community gathered in the San Francisco Design Center to witness a series of extravagant performances by the city’s most talented Drag Queens. That’s right! It was the third annual ‘Design Meets Divas of Drag’ event and Kendall had the honor of being one of the esteemed judges tasked with selecting who would walk away with the title of Top Designer Diva. Proceeds from the event were donated to Lava Mae, a shower service for San Francisco’s homeless community.
Alongside fellow judges including Paul Wiseman of The Wiseman Group and Jay Jeffers, Kendall joined the audience in cheering, gasping, and laughing as the ladies on stage gave it their all. Dressed to the nines in couture looks created by the Showrooms of the San Francisco Design Center, the Divas looked the part as they strutted across the stage and sang to their selected songs.
From an Alice in Wonderland recreation to Barbie Girl (by Aqua) sung by a Barbie and Ken, these queens really pulled out all the stops to put on a showstopping performance. In fact, everyone was so fantastic, it was incredibly difficult to choose a winner. There was even a performer who wore a dress made from Kendall’s Fabricut collection!
At the end of the evening, after much debate (and just as much champagne), the judges put in their votes and crowned Vanity sponsored by Donghia Inc. as the winner! It was so much fun and the Kendall Wilkinson Design team cannot wait to attend next year’s Design Meets Divas of Drag event.
